Massage

Philosophy

I believe in the human body’s own ability to heal and find balance within. Massage Therapy is an excellent way to assist this process. I support my clients with their healing journey by focusing on their needs and goals for each session. Healing is a movement towards an acceptance and a greater awareness of self and situation.

I consider my work facilitated healing. I can be a guide for your body to do its own amazing work. Each session is different with many techniques combined. During my sessions I use a combination of deep tissue massage, intuition, myofacial release, trigger point therapy, shiatsu, energy work, injury recovery techniques and CranioSacral Therapy.

Pregnancy/Labor/Postpartum Massage

Pregnancy and childbirth are potentially some of the most profound, rewarding, and demanding times during a woman’s life. Many changes are taking place: structural, physiological, psychological, spiritual, and social. Massage therapy is an excellent way to help the body assimilate different changes throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I have been specially trained through the Boulder College of Massage Therapy to perform Prenatal and Postpartum massage. I highly recommend that every woman receive massage during her pregnancy and postpartum periods.

There are many benefits from receiving massage during pregnancy, here are a few…

* Decreased stress hormone levels

* Reduced maternal anxiety

* Improved mood

* Better sleep

* Less back pain

* Fewer complications in labor

* Fewer postnatal complications for the infant

* Increased secretion of prolactin (milk production hormone)

* Enhanced placental function

* More sensitive and caring touch of newborns by their mothers

Integrated Table Work

I offer hour, hour and half, and two hour table sessions in my downtown Boulder office. These sessions can address many concerns including stress relief, injury recovery, chronic conditions, nurturing, and just needing a massage!

I offer a comfortable setting to receive massage therapy. My massage table is extra wide, heated and has thick padding. Sessions are often enhanced with Young Living essential oils and hot packs from the hydroculator.

I have been Nationally Certified and Licensed in New York State to perform Therapeutic Massage since 2003. I attended a 1000 hour education program at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson New York. In addition I have taken continuing education through the Upledger Institute and the Boulder College of Massage Therapy.
